Assignment: Character Animation Student: Mark Jenkins Class: Animation I-ANIM-202-01 Professor: Troy Gustafson Conditions: 360 frames at 24fps on 1s and 2s , 15 seconds long Resolution: 720x540 Program: Hand drawn, DigiCel Flipbook Our final assignment for Animation 1 was a 15 second animation using our character we designed in class. Our limitations were that we could not cut, or change scenes, only show the upper body of the character (no legs), and most of all, to be believably animated. This assignment involved 4 layers of animating: A background level which contained window frame; the characters body on another level; her face, the fly, and smoke on another level; and the cracked glass on another. My particular scenario involved my character trying to read, but is pestered by a fly, which leads her to knocking off her hair band*POOF* goes her hair! (She has super thick-afro-perfect hair that takes lots of effort and time to manage) She gets revenge in the end Sequence loops twice. I really enjoyed doing this assignment; it was lots of fun, work, and learning experience. And even better, I earned my highest grade on this assignment, which was a real surprise  Please share your feed back, critiques, and opinions. Thank you 

Assignment: Screen Space Student: Mark Jenkins Class: Principles of Screen Design-ANIM-270-03 Professor: Johannes Simon Conditions: 8 seconds at 30fps on 2s (246 frames total) Resolution: 720x480 Program: Hand drawn, DigiCel Flipbook The purpose of this assignment was to animate a fully believable 3D space on 2D. Our requirements were to have at least moving objects, a moving camera such as panning, scrolling, zooming, and rotating (which also meant animating the moving scenery), have shadows and a light source, and to add sound in order too add to the believability. The time limit was at least 7 seconds. This was a very challenging assignment, but a very good learning experience. Sequence loops 4 times. I was only limited to 15 seconds long, and we could chose and style or form of animation we wanted. I chose to do cut-out a la South Park. I created the faces and hands of the lady and bear in illustrator and photo shop and animated in After Effects and added sound and music in Adobe Premier. Assignment: Story Board/Animatic Student: Mark Jenkins Class: Principles of Screen Design-ANIM-270-03 Professor: Johannes Simon Conditions: 15fps Resolution: 701x480 Programs: Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premier The purpose of this assignment was to do an animatic of a story board (aka an animated story board). Out of 40 different scenarios, we had to choose 1, and story board it any form or fashion we wanted, just as long as it portrayed the scenario. The how and why of each scenario was up to us, as neither were necessary requirements for the assignment; we did have to have sound and music. We had no time limit or limitations in media. I chose to hand draw all the environments, character pose and everything, and scan them into photoshop. In Photoshop, I cleaned up the edges and touched up some details and organized all the different elements into groups and layers in order to be exported into After Effects. Once in After Effects, I animated everything, all the movements, camera panning, cuts, etc. I then exported the animated video file to Adobe Premier where I would add sound. And there you have it. I really-REALLY loved doing this assignment.
