The Joker, Penguin and Riddler are after an Incan treasure map, but their attempts to steal it are continually thwarted by the teamwork of Batman, Robin and Batgirl; so they plan to break up the Dynamic Duo by making Robin jealous of Batgirl. To top it off, they lure Robin into a trap, where they have hungry crocodiles waiting! I don't know where the plank came from. Some voices: Batman: Olan Soulé Robin: Casey Kasem Batgirl: Jane Webb Narrator, Riddler & Penguin: Ted Knight (2 years BEFORE "Mary Tyler Moore") Joker: according to different sources, either Ted Knight as well, or Larry Storch (who received no on-screen voice credit) TVLand once stated that Olan Soulé voiced Batman on Radio in the 1940's, but this is in dispute. TVLand has been known to make mistakes. We do know that Filmation's voice of Superman in their 1966 cartoons, Bud Collyer, DID voice Superman on Radio in the 40's.

bit.ly ► XmasFLIX.com NEW! ► http Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer (1948). The last cartoon ever produced by Max Fleischer who produced the Popeye the Sailor man, Betty Boop and Koko the Clown cartoons from the 1910's to the 1940's. (Click HQ for HD) You know Dasher, Dancer, etc., as the song goes and for the past several decades, you've known Rudolph as well. He's become so familiar a part of the Christmas scene that, like his contemporaries, the gremlins, a lot of people aren't even aware that he only goes back to the early-to-middle 20th century. Rudolph began as an attempt to promote a chain of department stores. It was in 1939 that Montgomery Ward, which had been giving away coloring books every Christmas for years, decided to produce its promotional give-away in-house. Robert L. May, who worked there as an advertising copywriter, was commissioned to write a story for young readers, and the result was Rudolph. May drew on some of his own childhood experiences as a puny kid that other kids sometimes picked on, to craft a story of a picked-on kid who made good, prospering as a result of the very attribute the others made fun of. Though the story, written in the form of rhyming couplets, passed its first test with flying colors, Montgomery Ward's publicity department initially chose not to follow the judgment of May's 4-year-old daughter, to whom he'd read the story aloud as he wrote it. Red noses smacked of drunkenness, they said, which made them inappropriate for a ...

After the Archies TV show proved to be a hit, Filmation tried to strike paydirt again with its Saturday morning creation "The Hardy Boys". Like the Archies, the show featured pop songs that the kiddies could buy. But, unlike the Archies, the show wasn't the hit hoped for. It was on the air for only two seasons and only two Hardy Boys LPs were released. After the Saturday morning run, the show was syndicated briefly, but that's about it. It has never been released on VHS or DVD, and the LPs have long been unavailable. This is a complete 30-minute episode, but with two separate stories. The first (of 3) clips contains the first story, the second story is stretched over parts two and three (The weekly song is in part two). When you watch the show, notice how fast each shot is. You'll rarely see a shot that lasts more than five or ten seconds. What's more, the stories tend to be kind of hard to figure out. I've never seen any other cartoon show have the same kind of look. It can be pretty unsettling at times. But, the music is another thing entirely. Chicago-based DUNWICH Productions was responsible for the music and it's pretty catchy. Too bad the light pop sounds didn't have better visuals to go along with. Many of the Hardy Boys songs are quite good. The song featured on this episode is called "Carnival Time". It was written by Proffer-Marmelzat and produced by Bill Traut and Jim Golden for DUNWICH Productions, Ltd. (BTW, the version of the song heard here is a remix of ...
